hey man- love the patterns you used here- actually the thumb is a little misleading as the patterns in her hair aren't visible there.

only have 1 crit- i think using a stroke (outline) on her face and hands would have been ideal. perhaps a very dark green. also her eyebrows should be the same pattern as her eyelashes. she's also missing a mouth.

f

Absolutely gorgeous wallpaper, Lady Ayaki. I am always happy to see you wall Amano, but that artwork is one of my favourite b&w Amano artworks; and you managed to capture the essence of his work.

perhaps sometimes later this week i will submit a few more b&w Amano works.

f

man - this is an incredible artwork. :)

f

YES! :screams: A Reiji Matsumoto wall- i am so happy to see a wall of his artwork; it puzzles me to think that only 3 walls have been made of his artwork. Vectors really suit his artwork well and i love how you vectored her hair and face especially. A well-balanced "Valentines Day" wall. :) as always i love your use of patterns.

be sure to watch Galaxy Express 999 & Interstella 5555.

btw- do not worry i am working on procuring more art-books including Miggy and other great artists as promised. so try to be a little more patient. ;) i am really happy to read that you are perusing my gallery and enjoy various artists.

Quote by tamakochanThe artbook is titled IO: Art of the Wired.
It includes other artists' work, mainly rising-star Asian artists.

did you read the description section?

f

Quote by ErdbeermilchI'm not a fan of catgirls, but this one is just adorable, you've really created the perfect world for a cat here (there's even a giant bowl of milk XD). As I'm a real sucker for patterns you've got me hooked with all those pillows.
I always wonder how you people get such crazy and great ideas.

i agree totally- if you are able to make the wall without cat ears et tail please let me know..

f

actually; VHD Bloodlust was designed by Yutaka Minowa based upon original VHD illustrations by Amano-sama.

hey there- i have a few minor crits: first off you misspelled the word "made" you alluded to this in your statement there but is still misspelled as "mde" on the link.

next and most important- although it seems you have followed the original scan- most times a vector should be silky smooth. this wall has way too many anchor points remember 1 continuous curve only requires 2 anchor points. an excellent tutorial can be found here.

f

forgot to fav earlier. :(

Quote by lady alterliergive me my saliva back.

WOAH- the concept is to quote Roger Rabbit "ccccrrrrrrrrrraaaaaazzzzzzzzzyyyy" but strangely it makes sense to me. ;) Ohgushi art needs way more love-imo

my only crit: on the "impure version" the yellow text of "she saliva" is a tad much. to quote Velvet Underground "it's shouting". BUT i know it was intentional to bring attention to your concept and purpose. in your sign- i think you meant to say "destined" not "destinated".

btw- i am glad to read you are still faithful to me, er my scans. :)

FULL VIEW IS ESSENTIAL PEOPLE!

i must confess i love X although i am partial towards Clover. :) the patterns are perfect - you always amaze me with your choices. perhaps you should consider a career in design?

my new desktop. :)

f

i was curious and scoped out the reference site myself- never heard of a site that uploaded extracted artwork even though poorly done.

BUT i enjoy your interpretation Lady Susan-chan and am left to ponder why this isn't in the Elite gallery. i do have one crit- i think the upmost butterfly to the top left (directly left to the girl) isn't necessary.

:tosses a white rose:

f

although i do not care for the rendering of the horse the girl looks great. she would make an excellent vectoring candidate-imo.

f

Quote by Nubesis on purpose because is blurry or is it like that?

that is how the artist drew his artwork.

f

LOL IT'S A GIRL.
no self respecting guy would ever wear red nail polish.

f

a worthy highlight indeed.
my only crit- is that i would like to see the "winged man" lines a little smoother. there is a slight contrast between the man and his wings.

would love to see what you can create in Illustrator.

f

this work reminds me slightly of Beksinski which makes me very happy. :)

f

ah lady alterlier doing "vexels".. i love her tattoo and the details on her eyes especially.
2 crits: i think giving her hair/eyebrows a gradient would have been a good idea due to contrast created by the plainness of her hair/eyebrows and the detailed vectors everywhere else. secondly- having a matching font of her hair color brings massive attention to the preceding statement. simply changing the fonts color to- say a shade of red from her detailed tattoo would have been ideal.

i always thought of a "vexel" as a series of detailed shaded vectors created upon each other.

btw- i hope you are doing well. great title "kill her off". ;)

f

i think it's a lady in the foreground and a warrior dude in the background. :)

Quote by ErdbeermilchSometimes I feel like a minority waller, there are allmost no Ryuya walls out there and sometimes I wish I'd own a vectoring ape o_O

yes, it sad to see there are a total of 3 Ryuya walls including this one. perhaps it is because of the challenging content? i can relate to the young "masters" position. excellent work on the ladies face- as the viewer cannot see her eyes she is very mysterious and pseudo animal-like.

Quote by chubbykittyI think the clothing looks nice but I wish the dragon were still on the clothing D: Even though there's now a pattern on the clothes, it sorta looks empty compared to the rest of piece.

an understandable criticism; but actually i feel it's fine since, although i adore the original piece - i felt it was a tad busy.

a beautiful wallpaper Lady Erdbeermilch- i have no criticisms. :)

f

this is my favourite of your most recent submissions. she seems very mysterious yet closed off in her own world. normally the accentuation of her lit cigarette would bother me but it fits in well and gives the piece balance.

i think this work would be an excellent candidate for vectoring.

btw- i am listening to David Bowie's "Fashion" as i type this. :)

lady markjo, are you familair with Tadahiro Uesugi?

f

this artwork is by Saito Takaka not Yoshitaka Amano.

f

ah yes i do remember the artwork from "perfume- story of a murderer". the movie was a little disappointing but i loved the concept art. wall

Amano-sama's original artwork comes from a book called "Kingyohime" (Princess Goldfish) and fashions the pretty princess with quasi-"cute" fish. the scans i submitted came from a catalogue art-book of Amano's artwork from the 90's.

i adore your works based upon his art-works and this piece is no different. i love your use of texture and the lady looks great (i hope people look carefully at her face) and her blanket looks fine. my only crit- is that her right elbow and arm looks a little strange whereas her left seems perfect to me. perhaps leaving her full right arm exposed (like the left arm is) would have been ideal.
